Highlands Current Resident Directory
In an effort to offer Highlands residents access to the most up-to-date neighborhood contact information, the HNA now subscribes to Directory Spot, a private, mobile directory platform. Unlike our paper directory, updates to a digital directory can be made easily at any time.
This digital directory will also allow users to more easily send emails to neighbors, groups of neighbors, or even the whole neighborhood - without having to repurpose old emails using a copy/paste or "reply all" technique. It is our hope that giving residents the ability to email more easily will actually reduce some of the emails we receive by better targeting emails. For example, someone needing a babysitter can send the request to ONLY the families with teens who babysit.

FAQ's
HOW DO I GET ACCESS TO THIS DIRECTORY?
Email our website administrator with your request. Access is only given to Highlands residents who have paid annual dues.
DOES THIS MEAN YOU'RE NOT GOING TO PRINT ANY MORE PAPER DIRECTORIES?
As of 3/2022, we will offer printed versions of our directory periodically only to senior residents who have supported the HNA with dues and would like an updated directory. Printed copies may be made available to non-senior residents if desired at a small cost to cover administrative printing fees.
WE HAVE PAID DUES AND I HAVE ACCESS TO THE DIGITAL DIRECTORY, CAN MY SPOUSE ALSO HAVE ACCESS?
Yes. Email Cate Hartzell with a request to add your spouse's email as a user.
HOW SECURE IS THIS?
We pay for the annual subscription, rather than hosting a database ourselves, so our personal details have the highest level of security. On our end, we control access of our directory, and currently, we only provide access to current residents of the Highlands who pay dues (and are therefore considered active and supportive of our goals as a community group). For more information about how Directory Spot handles the security of our information, please visit this website.
WHAT IS MY USERNAME?
The email you use for neighborhood communication is your username.
WHAT IS MY PASSWORD?
Your phone should store your password when you set up the app, but if you need it (for example, if you're logging in from a computer and not your phone), you can choose to "reset" your password. The system will then send an email to you with instructions for that.
HOW DO I EDIT/CHANGE MY CONTACT INFORMATION OR USERNAME/EMAIL?
Email Cate Hartzell with the correction or request.
WHAT IF I DON'T WANT TO BE IN THE DIRECTORY?
We hope everyone will see value in having a neighborhood directory, but if you want to opt out, we will remove all information except your family name, address, and a phone number. The phone number ensures neighbors can reach you if there's an emergency, but you won't ever receive any group emails.
HOW CAN I ADD CONTACT INFORMATION FOR MY TEEN WHO WANTS TO BE LISTED AS A SITTER?
At the moment, "babysitting" and "helper" groups contain the family unit as a whole. That means any requests emailed to a specific group will go to parent email accounts. Since the majority of babysitters and teen helpers are all minors, we feel going through the parents for a blanket request is the safest. Once your teen has established a babysitting relationship with a family, obviously they can share their contact information directly with that family.
CAN I CREATE MY OWN GROUP?
No. At this time, Directory Spot only allows admins to create groups. If you have an idea for a group that you feel would be useful to the neighborhood, please let us know.
IS THERE A WAY TO EMAIL JUST "THE GIRLS" OR JUST "THE GUYS?"
Not yet. We've submitted this feature it as a request for future releases. It would be nice to be able to create, for example, a "Ladies' Night Out" group. As it stands now, we can't do that because we can only add the whole family unit to a group, ergo - the guys would be getting Ladies' Night Out emails.
